Loving our neighbors

The Christian life is not a matter of achievement and striving to make God's kingdom come, for that has already been done by Christ's sacrifice on the cross. He tore the curtain that separates us from our Father, rendering our hearts to His throne in His death and sealing us in His eternal presence by His resurrection.

We are now God's eternally, and as we confess our reliance on Him and our security in His grace we are then able to extend it to others. "You are safe here. You are accepted and loved. Stay, eat, rest. You are home."

Do we really want to see our communities transformed? Let us first accept that Christ is enough. "The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing." It is God who transforms communities and it is by the transformational reality of Christ's work and the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit in our lives.
